This policy explains what information is involved when you use Ziannah, why it is involved, and what choices you have. It is written to be read rather than skimmed, and it is kept as short as the subject allows.

  1. 1. Who we are

1.1Ziannah is a free online tools and reference site operated by Saad Ali ("we", "us"). For the purposes of data protection law we are the controller of the information described in this policy.

1.2Questions, requests, and complaints may be sent to hello@ziannah.com.

1.3This policy describes how information is handled in connection with the website at ziannah.com and the tools made available on it (the "Site").

1.4This policy does not apply to any third party website that may be reached from the Site, including sites reached through advertising. Those sites are governed by their own policies.

  2. 2. Information you enter into the tools

2.1The calculators, converters, text tools, and generators published on the Site are designed to process their inputs within your browser.

2.2We do not intentionally receive, transmit, or store the numbers, text, names, passwords, or other content you enter into those tools.

2.3Where a tool allows you to create a shareable link, the values you chose are encoded into the link itself. Anyone holding that link can read those values. We do not store them.

  3. 3. Information collected automatically

3.1We collect limited usage measurements in order to understand which pages are visited, which tools are used, and how the Site performs.

3.2Information in this category may include the page requested, the referring page, approximate region derived from your IP address, browser, operating system, device type, and which tool actions you take, such as starting or completing a calculation.

3.3Ziannah uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate page-view information. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies, does not associate its reports with an individual or an IP address, and discards its visitor-session identifier after 24 hours.

3.4Ziannah also uses Vercel Speed Insights to measure page performance, including Web Vitals reported by visiting browsers.

3.5Ziannah also uses Google Analytics, which acts as our processor. It assigns your browser a randomly generated identifier so a return visit can be recognized. That identifier is not a name or an email address and we do not attempt to link it to one, but it is not fully anonymous.

3.6We never record the values you enter into a tool. A tool event carries the name of the tool and nothing you typed into it.

3.7Our service providers process technical request and security data to the extent necessary to deliver pages, prevent abuse, and maintain availability.

  4. 4. Cookies

4.1A cookie is a small file placed on your device by a website. The Site uses cookies only for the purposes described in this clause and the next.

4.2Strictly necessary cookies are used to deliver pages, distribute load, and protect against abuse. The Site cannot be operated without them and they are not used to identify you.

4.3Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies. Its aggregate measurement is separate from the Google Analytics setting described below.

4.4We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and tools are used. It sets cookies in order to recognize a returning browser, and the data is processed by Google as our provider. It records the pages you visit and which tools you interact with, never the values you enter into them.

4.5Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the Site from working.

  5. 5. Advertising

5.1Ziannah uses Google AdSense to display advertising. Google is a third party vendor and uses cookies to serve ads on this site.

5.2Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve advertisements to you based on your visits to Ziannah and to other sites on the internet.

5.3Third party vendors and advertising networks other than Google may also place cookies in order to serve advertising on this site.

5.4You may opt out of personalized advertising by Google through Google Ads Settings, and you may opt out of participating third party vendors through aboutads.info.

5.5Visitors located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized advertising is shown, and may withdraw that consent at any time.

  6. 6. Legal bases for processing

6.1Where the data protection law of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom applies to you, we rely on the following bases.

6.2Consent, for Google Analytics, advertising cookies, and any other cookie where applicable law requires consent. You may withdraw consent at any time, and withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.

6.3Legitimate interests, where applicable law permits, for aggregate page and performance measurement and for keeping the Site secure and available. We limit these measurements, do not include tool inputs, and do not use them to build a profile of you.

  7. 7. Notice to California residents

7.1California law treats the disclosure of identifiers to advertising networks for cross context behavioral advertising as a sale or sharing of personal information, even where no money changes hands.

7.2Where advertising is shown to you on the Site, information such as device identifiers and the pages you view may be shared with advertising vendors for that purpose. We do not sell personal information for money.

7.3You may opt out through Google Ads Settings and through aboutads.info. Where a consent or preference control is shown on the Site, the choice you make there is applied.

7.4We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

  8. 8. Correspondence

8.1If you contact us by email we receive your address and the contents of your message. We use that information to respond to you, to investigate reports, and to improve the Site.

8.2We do not sell contact information, and we do not add correspondents to marketing lists.

  9. 9. Retention

9.1Vercel Web Analytics discards its visitor-session identifier after 24 hours. Aggregate page and performance reports remain available for the reporting periods provided by Vercel.

9.2Usage measurements are retained by Google Analytics for the retention period configured in that service, after which the event level data is deleted automatically. Aggregate reports may remain available for longer.

9.3Correspondence is retained for so long as necessary to deal with the matter raised and to keep a record of it.

  10. 10. Your rights

10.1Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information relating to you, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

10.2Because the tools operate in your browser and we do not maintain user accounts, we generally hold no personal information about a visitor beyond any correspondence you have sent us.

10.3Requests may be made using the contact details in the final clause of this policy. We do not charge for responding and we will not treat you differently for exercising a right.

10.4If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

10.5You can stop Ziannah from loading Google Analytics in this browser through the analytics preferences page. That preference applies only to Google Analytics. Vercel's aggregate page and performance measurements and necessary security processing are separate. A content blocker may also prevent some measurement. Analytics is not required for any tool to work.

  11. 11. Children

11.1The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.

11.2We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that it can be removed.

  12. 12. International transfers

12.1The Site is delivered through infrastructure located in a number of countries, and information described in this policy may be processed outside the country from which you access the Site.

12.2In particular, measurement data is processed by Google, including on servers in the United States. Where you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, those transfers rely on the safeguards Google puts in place as a data importer, and no Google Analytics cookie is set until you have consented.

  13. 13. Changes to this policy

13.1We may amend this policy as the Site changes. Where an amendment is material, the effective date shown above will be revised.

13.2Continued use of the Site after an amendment takes effect constitutes acceptance of the amended policy.

  14. 14. Contact

14.1Questions about this policy may be sent to hello@ziannah.com.
