The case formats

Paste your text, pick a format, and copy the result. This is a letter case converter, so only the letters change: numbers, spaces, and punctuation come back exactly as you pasted them. Here is what each format does.

UPPERCASE
"annual report" becomes "ANNUAL REPORT". Every letter is capital. Good for short labels, acronyms, and headings that need to shout.
lowercase
"Annual Report" becomes "annual report". Every letter is small. Useful for text typed with caps lock on, and for tidying tags or file names.
Sentence case
"the meeting IS on friday" becomes "The meeting is on friday". Only the first letter of the sentence is capital. This is how normal writing looks.
Title Case
"a tale of two cities" becomes "A Tale of Two Cities". Main words are capital and small joining words like of and the stay lowercase. This is the format for titles and headings.
Capitalize Each Word
"a tale of two cities" becomes "A Tale Of Two Cities". Every word starts with a capital, including the small words. Useful for names and labels.
aLtErNaTiNg cAsE
"hello world" becomes "hElLo WoRlD". The case flips on every letter, for a playful or mocking tone in captions.

Which case should you use?

For a heading or a title, use Title Case, or Sentence case if your style guide prefers it. To fix a line someone typed with caps lock on, use Sentence case. To tidy data for a spreadsheet or a set of file names, use lower case so everything matches.
